The 6th OCPA Topical Accelerator School & Workshop - High Brightness Electron Beams: Physics and Applications

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Following the highly successful line of the OCPA Topical Accelerator School and Workshop, which recurs every two years since first initiated in 2009, we are very pleased to announce that the 6th event in this series will be held in San-Pu, Beijing from October 13th to 18th, 2019. Tsinghua University will be the local organizer of this event.

The theme of this year’s school and workshop will be “High Brightness Electron Beams: Physics and Applications”. The topics may include but are not limited to the following:

• Beam dynamics: single-particle and collective effects

• Beam generation: electron sources, photocathodes, laser shaping, timing

• Beam acceleration: normal-conducting, super-conducting, high gradient, high frequency structures, laser acceleration and other advanced concepts

• Beam control and diagnostics: beam shaping and characterization in space and time

• Applications/instruments/facilities: diffraction-limited storage rings, THz to X-ray FELs, inverse Compton scattering, electron diffraction and microscopy, electron cooling, induction linacs, medical and industrial applications

Young scholars, including graduate students, postdocs, and junior researchers, in accelerator and related communities are all most cordially welcome and strongly encouraged to participate.

The schedule and format of the school and workshop will be organized similarly to previous ones, with lectures by senior researchers on advanced topics and/or overviews, student presentations on her/his research interests, and free discussions and extracurricular activities.
