DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues and Friends\,\nFollowing the highly successful
  line of the OCPA Topical Accelerator School and Workshop\, which recurs e
 very two years since first initiated in 2009\, we are very pleased to anno
 unce that the 8th event in this series will be held from October 15th to
  20th\, 2026.\nThe theme of the school and workshop will be “Accelerator
 s for Health”. Through lectures and discussions\, participants will gain
  an integrated understanding of:\n· Medical and Biological Foundations:
  Essential concepts in radiobiology\, oncology\, medical imaging and clin
 ical requirements for accelerator-based technologies.\n· Accelerator Fun
 damentals and Machine Types: The principles\, design and operation of ele
 ctron linacs\, cyclotrons\, synchrotrons and emerging compact accelerators
  for medical applications.\n· Diagnostic Imaging: Accelerator-generated
  X-rays\, CT\, synchrotron imaging and compact inverse-Compton X-ray sourc
 es.\n· Cancer Therapy: Electron and photon radiotherapy\, proton therap
 y\, heavy-ion therapy\, BNCT\, beam-delivery technologies\, FLASH therapy 
 and other advanced treatment modalities.\n· Nuclear Medicine and Medical
  Isotopes: Accelerator production of radionuclides for PET\, SPECT\, diag
 nostic imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy.\n· AI-Enabled Patient 
 Care: AI-based image reconstruction\, treatment planning\, dose optimizat
 ion and personalized therapy.\n· Future Concepts: Novel accelerator tec
 hnologies\, compact medical sources and emerging diagnostic and therapeuti

 \nThe format of the OCPA Topical School and Workshop series mandates each 
 participant to deliver a presentation of her/his own research. When applyi
 ng for the School and Workshop\, each student and young researcher needs t
 o submit an abstract (150-200 words in English) and a brief self-introduct
 ion. Each participant will give a 20 minutes’ presentation at the worksh
 op. The talk may include\, but is not limited to\, the motivation\, status
 \, challenges of your research topic\, your technical approach\, achieveme
